A Matter of Succession
The human countess Orianna Humphrey, well beloved by her family and subjects alike in the town of Highstone, passed away peacefully in her sleep last week at the ripe old age of 73. After the funeral rites and celebration of life, her family sat down to read the will - only to find that she left them a blank page, naming no direct heir! The family has five potential candidates to succeed as count or countess – who will your party support?
This one-or-two-shot is designed to give new DMs an opportunity to practice several different facets of running a tabletop roleplaying game, including character roleplay, combat encounters, and a flexible story whose ending relies entirely on player choice.
